Feeling rather smug as I went to a friends house whoes baby is in disposables and ahe had run out. PANIC- NOT I simply lent her one of my littlelamb cotton nappies and wraps and she loves them- oin fact she has not given them back yet!)

We started using these when our little boy was about six weeks old and have found them to be perfect for our needs. They are easy to wash and dry (even through the winter) as they will dry overnight on a radiator airer. The fact that they are white means they are easy to keep clean with washing powder and the occaisional bit of Astonish stain remover. They do have to be changed more frequently than disposables, but you soon get into the habit and the difference in the amount of rubbish generated makes it worthwhile. I am about to lend the size one nappies to a neighbour who has just given birth and is keen to give them a try. They have had six months intensive use and are as good as new. I fully expect them to last for a few more babies (mine and friends) making the savings made even bigger.

I adopted a girl of 10months old and had to use disposables for teh first couple of months so as not to change her routine, but hated putting them in landfill and was determined to use real nappies. I knew I wanted velcro fasten and not poppers as it seemed logical and more flexible with a one year old, but I did have a Mother Ease on trial. Yes mother ease look velvety compared to little lambs and yes as you wash little lambs they become more like cardboard - I don't use softener - BUT... I wouldn't swap my Little Lambs for the world! They fit better, are more flexible and the fleecey liner gives a lovely soft layer between my now toddler and that rougher texture but it is precisely that old fashioned towelling that makes them so good at absorbing liquid. Occassionaly I use the Mother Ease because my nappies haven't dried yet, it last two minutes! One wee and it's soaked. So if anyone wants to use real nappies I always recommened little lambs! I was wondering coudl you also have a potty training page with some good advice about how to start that? I am hoping to say good bye to all nappies soon and some guidance would be great!
